Winn Golf Grips at the 2008 PGA Golf Show

A correct golf grip is an essential golf swing mechanics leading to a proper golf swing. The grip is your only connection with your golf club. The fingers are the most sensitive parts of our hands. Placing the club more in the fingers rather than in the palm increases the amount of wrist hinge action, which results in longer tee shots and more feel.

Where I have the most trouble with my grip is when your facing different weather elements. You have some grips that are great for non-slipping and others that feels like you must choke it to death to hang on for dear life.  That is why I like Winn grips #1 grips in the world. I’m not a good mudder especially when the rains open up into a downpour. I have a tendency to lose the golf club completely, and many times finding my golf club being launched a few yards away.

Have you ever lost control of your golf club? This can become a dangerous situation for the golfers in your group. I remember a golf match in high school and this happened to me. I was disqualified for worn grips  after the opposing team coach inspected my grips and was agreed upon by my own coach. This inspection happened because during my back swing I lost control of my golf club and struck my competitor in the chest doubling him over. According to the breach of rules 4-3b the penalty of disqualification occurred because it wasn’t during a stipulated round of normal play but, over a period of many rounds and they should have been replaced before the incident happened. More on this later, be sure to watch the videos at the end of this short post.
